Húnbogi Sólon Gunnthorsson

My name is Húnbogi Sólon Gunnþórsson , is 31 years old and works as a project manager at Síldarvinnslan. I live in Neskaupstaður with Eydís Elva Gunnarsdóttir and we have two children together, Björn Jökull and Melkorka Þöll.

In my free time, I enjoy the outdoors, whether it's fishing, golfing, or skiing in the winter. I also find it important to spend time with my family and travel around the country.

I offer my strength to the municipality because I believe Fjarðabyggð have great career opportunities. It's great to live and grow up here and after studying I was determined to return home.

Our business sector is strong and there are many opportunities to further strengthen it, including in aquaculture, tourism and other growing sectors. It is essential to continue to attract people to our country and create an environment where people want to settle.

I believe that strong leisure and sports activities are key to the quality of life of residents and make the municipality a more desirable place to live. It is necessary to promote and nurture our sports infrastructure. In particular, our Oddskarð ski resort plays an important role and is an attraction for both residents and visitors.

My goal is to do my part to make Fjarðabyggð to an even better place to live and work – this is how we build a strong and sustainable society for the future.
