Since Sjálfstæðisflokkurinn went to the majority in 2024, emphasis has been placed on stability in operations, clear priorities and long-term thinking. This work creates realistic scope for targeted development for the future. One of these is the construction of a new sports center in Eskifjörður. It is important to continue this project and ensure that it becomes a reality as soon as possible.
The need is clear. Children and young people need good facilities for school sports and leisure activities, and all residents should have easy access to exercise that promotes health and quality of life. I look forward to seeing strong sports and competitions in a new sports hall located next to the swimming pool, where synergies are created by connecting swimming, sports and other health-promoting activities in one place. Such a structure strengthens the community and increases the attractiveness of the town to attract new residents to Eskifjörður.
